Bluetooth phones that don't work.
Just wanted to start a simple thread where people can list the phones that they have tried to pair with the 2006 e90 that don't work and phones that they personally use that do.
Would be great to keep this thread simple and free of questions about what works and if you have tried this or that, yada, yada, yada. Phones that I have tried and don't work: Audiovox SMT5600 i-Mate Jam Motorola MPX-220 Phones that I have tried and do: RAZR V3 Treo 650 Carrier: Cingular |

Purchased a Motorola E815 for use with Verizon. Installed and worked beautifully for one day. Then down hill from there over the past five days. Spotty connections. Went to dealer on day three. It worked for few hours. Mostly would connect after long periods of time when car is off. Never dropped the BT connection I would not reconnect when you turned off the phone or the car. Finally, today it only connected once. Car would read phone and phone would show disconnect on screen after attempting to connect maually.
Talked to Verizon techs for one hour. They have heard of issue with BMWs. They referred me to Motorola. After three attempts over two days, I reached a tech who checked the software number and concluded the phone's bluetooth module had failed or the software needed reloaded or flashing. Sent me to only one autorized Motorola repair shop in the entire Wash. DC area. The next closest shop was in Pennsylvania. The other choice is to send the phone back to Motorola. Spoke to local tech who does not have software for E815 and concurred it is probably a bad BT module. Since the phone is only a few days old, we decided to just ask verizon for a new phone. So, I exchanged the phone (same store probably same batch of phones). Reconnected phone with the car and is again working wonderfully. But, for how long? |

Razr V3 with T-Mobile
Works but drops calls when I get a second call from call waiting and doesn't give me the option to answer call waiting. This drives me crazy. Phone book doesn't automatically pop up but if I push in on the tuning knob after pressing A-Z it does pull up the entire book in a list format. |

After the dealership installed the Sirius radio and had to recode my computer, my SMT 5600 works now. About 90% of the time. No phone book, but it works. And you are right, it (phone) has to be paired and set as a handsfree device. |

Work well and fully functional:
(1) Moto V515 (2) Sony Ericsson T637 Works most of the time and fully functional: (1) Moto V3 Razr - sometimes won't connect, and sometimes I can't end a call using the end button on the car. Works well but with phone only (no phone book): (1) RIM Blackberry 7290 - had to download BB v. 4.0.x software - works great, connects faster than any of the above noted phones. When the phone was using v. 3.6.x, it would pair with some difficulty, but almost never stay paired; now works great except no address book (2) RIM Blackberry 7100g - again no address book - this is known and well documented with the RIM BB devices All of the above are the are Cingular Wireless GSM phones. |

Blackberry 7100g sporadic at best
Blackberry 7100g with Cingular is a crap shoot at best, works about 2 out of 10 times. Updated to latest version and out of luck.

My Verizon E815 is working fine. Car was delivered 11/18. I sometimes bring the phone indoors overnight, or into stores. I have the armrest insert to charge it. (Ridiculously overpriced, but what the hay.) Works fine every time. Voice command: "Call. Home.". I love it.

Blackberry 7250 (Verizon) works well, but no phone book. Interestingly enough it will not connect with the BT in my wife's X5.

MY SONY K750i does not connect with the e90 in US. It juz freezes when I try to add it. RIGHT AFTER I enter the passkey "0000" on the car. My phone remains at the "adding device" screen forever, I had to reset it after 10 mins. What am I doing wrong, I see that some people have claimed the k750i works well with the e90. Does my engine need to be on? cuz I tried it with it on and off. Please help me out, I do not want to buy a new phone. Thanks

LG PM-325 (Sprint) pairs and consistently connects, but no phonebook (lack of OBEX). It's ok though...I can still use voice dial.

IMPORTANT FOR VERIZON PEOPLE:
It appears that Verizon has discontinued the Motorola E815. They had a blow out sale at $49.95. I have the E815, and it works PERFECTLY with the BMW Bluetooth. NEVER lost any connection. So, for those who want a phone that works great, you should go to your local Verizon store and pick up their last E815's. They are no longer on their Verizon Website here in California. Good luck. BT is just great. I got a charger and leave the phone on all the time in the car and it connects automatically when I start the car and is recharging all the time. Working just super. Larry in Los Angeles P.S. Still hate the run flat tires ! |

I-Mate, XDA with Windows Mobile 5.0 works
The following works with address transfer - software updates may be necessary - I would recommend xdadevelopers.com
The following models from HTC works running Windows Mobile 5.0: Wizard Qtek 9100 / I-mate K-JAM / MDA Vario / O2 XDA Mini S / SPV M3000 / Cingular 8125 / T-Mobile MDA / Dopod 838 Universal Dopod 900 / Qtek 9000 / MDA Pro / I-mate JASJAR / O2 Xda Exec / SPV M5000 / Qtek v1640 Blue Angel O2 Xda IIs / O2 Xda III / Dopod 700 / PDA2k / MDA III / SPV M2000 / Qtek 9090 / SX66 Prophet Qtek S200 / Dopod 818 Pro / O2 Germany XDA neo / I-mate JAMin / SPV M600 I have not checked any other. Tried Nokia 6880 - working without phonebook transfer. There may be a BT stack update that makes it work, but I could not get that working. Also tried Samsung D600 - working without phonebook transfer. Enjoy Windows Mobile 5 with BMW Windows CE Automotive! |
