Wink My new 335D Coupe :)

So after a LONG drive back from Derby yesterday for a friends wedding, I was getting really fed up of being in the car driving hundreds of miles but something kept me smiling.. Something I have had my eyes on for months and months - 335D.

Today I have spent almost 8 hours on the road (to Exeter and back) to pick up the new baby. The drive home on the a303 (highly recommended for anyone looking for a good drive on country lanes) was just beyond words I have never felt this much torque in a car before- I absolutely love it and am a proud owner of this 335D SE. It has had only one previous owner and was also used in a car showroom so has been nicely specc'd. Low mileage and full BMW service history, it was a cracking deal so without further a do.. Here are just a couple of iPhone pics - will put up the SLR pics when I get the chance.

P.S. Sorry about the extra large sized pics - not sure how to make them smaller. Also, that would be my Dad in the pics who also travelled with me today.

Lovely car mate, the best wheels going for the 3series. You wait till you map it, they are pretty ballistic!! I loved mine and would have one again.

I had the gloss trim too. So much nicer than the Chrome. Although it
Can look alright on silver cars.

Cheers buddy ! I love the wheels on the SEs. The guy had them refurbed (all but 1- stupid if u ask me to not have all done) but I'll get the 4th one done soon.

It's beautiful and it effortlessly returns that D torque when needed. I couldnt be happier.. It pulls so fast Im still thinking about the drive lol.

I will probably get it mapped but not just yet. It has a few stone chips that I need to address so maybe I'll do that in a month of two but first on the mod list is the exterior door trims... They seem quite 'tired' now, lol.

Thanks buddy, yes, with the nav option - I realise having it is pretty darn useful so a happy bunny!

The spec is as follows (I'm pretty sure I've forgotten things but it's close to midnight and I'm shattered!):

BMW 335D SE Coupe
Auto/Step with paddleshifts
Xenons (any way to tell if they're dynamic / adaptive?)
19" Twisted Spoke Alloys (Bridgestone Potenza RFTs)
iDrive
Power Folding Heated Mirrors
Electric Seats (Memory ones - standard??)
BMW Professional Stereo

Must have missed lots of stuff but I'm sure you already know

Hey Sam

Looking good mate, so far as checking for the adaptive headlights should be easy. Park against a wall, make sure their in auto and turn the steering. If adaptive you'll see the beam moving left to right.

What stereo system has it got?

Congrats on the purchase Sam as discussed on the phone

Get the trims wrapped, get it mapped, and take it from there.

I've got a mate who can sort all the stone chips out and do the trims at the same time if interested. He does it properly though IE sprays it up.. Would be about £300 for the whole job and would have your bumper and bonnet looking brand new again.

But in any case congrats with the purchase When you coming by to pick up my audio ??? Hahaha just kidding.

Now that you went iDrive are you going to order a 2012 nav disk to get the speed cameras etc ? If you know what you're doing with a PC you can burn one yourself for free including the firmware updates. Good thing about the CIC nav. Otherwise it's £30 or so to buy a copied one online (Or £200 plus an hours labour from a dealer. I'd personally pass on that option !!! )

Thanks Matt,

Much appreciated! I don't think I have the adaptive xenons as I did the above at lunchtime today and didn't get much joy but it's nothing big for me anyways so all good. I'll give it another try just in case I was not paying full attention lol.

Stereo system is standard - 6 speaker set up I think.. 2 fronts, 2 underseats and 2 rears...

I sold my E90 with the sound system inclu Bit One which I was really gutted about but I will do this up when the time is right and do it to the same if not better standard - If budget permits, I may opt for Morells this time to experience the difference in Focals and Morells and will also go the MS-8 - but all this is not for a while yet.. I've got to build up the bank bal again lol!

Dave - cheers for that. I just had to let you know man seeing as you were one of the 1st ones to get me on these forums lol. I am gutted its not the ED / Newer Engine model but for the price and age / condition and what not of the car, I couldn't be any happier. I realyl couldn't!

Remap and Trims are on the agenda but the bonnet / bumper and Tints would probably be my starting point so I'll give you a shout once I'm ready for it. Liek you, I'm also now saving the pennies and only spending on what's essential - somehow, this car was essential! LOL.

Thanks - I do love those alloys too -and yes a map will be on the agenda in the not too distant future. How much will it shorten the engine life by.. I'm just worried it might be too much for an engine of that age now. It's only done 43.5k mileage so still pretty low considering it's a 7 yr old car.

Regarding the dynamic headlights or not, if it's got them it actually says dynamic on the chrome bezel inside the light unit. (easily visible if you look at the headlight close up from the front)
Nice car by the way!

You betcha'! It's a beast !! Easily the best car I'll Own for a long time bearing in mind the power to economy ratio!

I have a question for you wise people, my rear right brake light warning light comes on indicating a failure in the light. The dealer told me about this on arrival so I wasn't too p***ed off. Could you kindly tell me which bulb I'd need and where to get them from please? Don't want any cheap imitations but nothing overly priced. Also, when and if I ever want to replace the yellow angel rings to the more whiter ones, do you know where I could source these from and approx. price?

Thanks,

Sam.

Looking good, those 230 alloys are growing on me. (not sure if you saw my reply to the other thread)

I would personally go for the 4 led bmw angel eye upgrade as they give a more whiter look and a very close match to the newer style angel eyes

You can get them from neil at juiced tuning, also I belive 1SH is selling them in for sales as well

BTW you need to change you car description below your avatar picture
