What machine polisher?

Im considering a machine polisher and wondered what everyone recommends/uses?

I know thats an open question but feel free to ask anything further to narrow down the criteria.

Thanks

I would get the pro version - more powerful and a longer power cord.

I have a Flex 3401 VRG, which is an excellent DA machine as it also uses forced rotation, it's so good in fact that I often use it in preference to my Milwaukee Rotary.
It's not the cheapest piece of kit, but is well worth the money if you're planning to use it a fair amount.

the flex would probably be too high end for me.

does the kestrel have similar speed ratings to the porter? its just that most of the guides i have read quote porter speeds (5,6 etc)

I am just about to buy one, I'm a bit confused what pads to get or to get the microfibre system, I've read far too many reveiws over the last few days I can't decide.

Be interested in your opinions.

For BMW paint if you have swirls get the the Megs DA MF System
It works well, but expect to use a few pads as they heat up and fall to bits if over used

Small areas at a time is the key

Mine's yet to arrive, but I went with the starter kit from Chemical Guys: http://www.chemicalguysuk.com/Chemic...it_p/cgdua.htm

1 x Dual Action Polisher Complete With Backing Plate
1 x Chemical Guys V34 Optical Grade Compound 16oz
1 x Chemical Guys V36 Optical Grade Cutting Polish 16oz
1 x Chemical Guys V38 Optical Grade Final Polish 16oz
1 x Chemical Guys Orange Hex Logic Cutting Pad 5.5 Inch
1 x Chemical Guys White Hex Logic Polishing Pad 5.5 Inch
1 x Chemical Guys Black Hex Logic Finishing Pad 5.5 Inch

Taken after advice gained from DW and elsewhere, heard great things about the pads and the machine.
