How many Evo owners drive 335i's now

I know that it might sounds irrelevant/indiferent to you but I am actually absolutely astonished to find more and more and more Evo owners in this forum.

I noticed that the word of mouth from this forum to evolutionm.net forum is now a daily ocurrence. It clearly looks like the BMW 335i is a highly desired car for a Evo owner and it became basically the number one choice after the Evo.

Please pitch in your comments because I want to create a list to see how many Evo owners actually went from owning an Evo to either exchange it for a 335i or to add a 335i for their collection. This is another great sign that the 335i is also considered a great fast and comfortable commuter.

What I am wondering is if these former Evo drivers miss their old cars. I haven't owned either car, but I have driven both on many occasions. It seems to me that the Evo is a much more entertaining car to drive. It also seems like the novelty of the Evo might eventually wear off making it annoying in day to day driving. Both of these cars are great cars, but they are also very different. Do any former Evo drivers wish they had their Evo back?

Read post #1.

There are plenty of people switching from Evos to 335s. They relate basically on their scorching FI performance and the ability to put to shame many sports cars. 335s excel as daily drivers and Evos at the track. Similar performance, different attitude.

On the S2000 forums there are also a significant number of previous s2k owners that now own a 335.

Again we are comparing apples and oranges.

I have a s2k but I would never have it as my only vehicle.

Basicly what I am looking at is the fact that the BMW 335i is very well accepted in the sports car world. It clearly seems to be a great sports car and that this car(BMW) is filling the spot of a nice luxury car with the punch of a sport car, all this in one stylish body.

It also looks to me that the word of mouth is working very well about this car, basically everyone is giving great feedback about this car and STI, Evos, Audis,Honda S2000 owners are just pooring in to the BMW dealers and getting themselves one.

Ideally just about anyone here would like to have one of each but giving the facts in my opinion the BMW offers just the entire package:
better insurance
much better gas mileage
equipment
warranty
quality
performance
retail value
comfort/luxury etc, etc

I got Nlakind into the movement. I had another person who ordered a 335i as well..but she traded her VIII in for a IX.

Here is my car before the 335i.

Because they are both turbo'd.

A lot of people like myself were in a hole. We had Evos with at least 300whp and everything under the $50,000 line felt slow.

I was going to keep the Evo until I had enough money for an M or AMG or 997. But after test driving the 335i, while not as fast as my Evo, it was quick.

Both the Evo and 335i are relatively easy to make power on. The only difference is that the Evo is a cop magnet. You will get stopped for doing speed limit just so they can pop your hood.. it becomes annoying over time.

Is anyone else sick of people saying these cars shouldn't be cross shopped or compared? Everytime a thread like this comes up on any forum you get people saying that. Clearly these cars are being cross shopped and compared, so why not talk about it? An Evo is a smaller sedan with a turbo engine with half a liter of displacement per cylinder and 289HP that goes for around $35k. An e90 335i is a smaller sedan with a turbo engine with half a liter of displacement per cylinder and 300 HP that goes for around $40k. I would say they are some what similar.
