I am the proud owner of an E90 328i xDrive and I'd like to change. I used to drive the car for work but not anymore (I have a company vehicle for official business now). I've been looking at the new F30 but want to go back to a manual transmission as all my previous cars were 6MT except for this one. Unfortunately 6MT isn't available on the F30 328i xDrive, and I wanted something a little bit more sporty. I am looking at the F30 328i Sport Line with 6MT.

So, how are you Montrealers (or other people from Quebec) dealing with RWD? I know most owners have xDrive on their cars, how many of you have RWD and use their cars in winter time? Most people tell me that a good set of winter tires + RWD is just fine for winter driving but I have my doubts as we can get some nasty storms sometimes (I live northeast of Montreal)... I am a strong proponent for xDrive but am now questioning the need for it as I won't have to drive as much for work with it.

Any thoughts? And no, I don't think I'll splurge for a 335iX even if it's available in 6MT...
