What does it take to beat it ?

I have jb4 .. Aa down pipe full exhaust no mufflers no cats... Big Tom intercooler. And scoops with BMS intakes .. Ad I could get 50/50 e85/93

Gotta be more specific, C5 or C6 Vette?? The LS6 is the C5 was rated at 385 HP/385 TQ so an FBO N54 would make it close (Vette is lighter). The C6 had two different motors, the LS2 (05-07) which had 400 HP/400 TQ, and then switched over to the LS3 (08-current) which produces 430 HP/425. The C6 Vettes would require a FBO N54 with an E85 blend and/or Meth

The C5 Z51 used the regular LS1 rated at roughly 340hp(the ls6 was rated at 385 the first year and was revised and rated at 405hp.) The Z51 package is basically a handling package.

I know the Z51 is the handling package, but that's just wat Wikipedia spit out

The Z51 used the LS1 and MRS(magnetic ride suspension.)

The only vette to get the LS6 was the Z06. The only cars to get the LS6 were the Z06, cts-v and a limited edition camaro SS.

if OP is talking about running a stock C5 power-wise, then FBO+tune of choice shouldn't have a problem taking one.

At my altitude all it takes is a tune. The 506 hp cts-v traps 108-110 in Colorado. Turbo cars get a HUGE jump on NA or even supercharged.

I've heard tune only is neck to neck to 75-80
Which doesn't make much sense, does it

Stock n54's will take stock c5's (except z06) up here. No problem. Z06's run high 13's@101-103 with a great driver.

No no. NA cars are waaay slower at high altitude. FI cars do much better at altitude.

My dad has a C5 that is unmodified. Against me stock he wins every time. Against me with JB4 Map 5 and DCI I walk him at any speed. I've never raced a C6 but I wouldn't expect to hang on pump gas with my mods.

Neither the Z51 C5's or C6's have the magnetic suspension. These are my cars. A S/C'd 06 Z51 and '10 135i.

Not to question you, but are you SURE the C5 Z51 didnt use MRS? i know the Z06 didn't but i was almost 100% that the Z51 did.

of coarse i could just google and get my answer lol

EDIT: you're right. the F45 option was MRS.

I ran my friends co worker who has a c6 grand sport (ls3) twice. Both times from 60-145. I won both times. He was at my bumper. I didn't start to pull until 130-135. He's was stock and 6mt. My car is also 6mt and at the time had downpipes, dci, jb4 (Map 2), and muffler delete. Got text messages the whole night from the guy as he was shocked by the outcome and couldn't believe I only had 3 mods

Yeah, you found your answer. Another former Vette owner here. The MRS was an option of base C5s and it's actually coded as the F55 suspension. The Z51 suspension pkg was also an option on base C5s, but standard on the ZO6. It does nothing for acceleration. These days, it's now available on the entire line up and has migrated to the CTS-V and Camaro. It truly is a great option and makes a huge difference. The C6 Grand Sports got their trannies tweaked and I believe larger tires that allowed it to cut off a few 1/10ths on its 0-60 times; 4.1 I think.

The Z51 performance package offers larger sways, stiffer springs, larger brakes, different gears(manual) stickier GY SC tires and oil cooler.
The GS has the wider body panels of the Z06 and the Z's wider wheels/tires(325/275) and larger 6/4 piston fixed calipers.

It depends if your doing a dig or not? From a roll vs a stock 08+ c6 will beat you.. Stock c5 you got easily with FBO + tune. You should be able to beat one with a intake and full exhaust easily .
