325D discovery...
I was just looking at whats about on the market e90 wise just out of interest after having mine for nearly year. I didnt realise that the LCi 325d actually uses the older M57 engine rather than the later N57 330d engine. Strange that they did this rather than detuning the N57 engine?
LCi 325d (M57):- http://www.cargiant.co.uk/BMW/3-seri...asp?viewtype=0 LCi 330d (N57):- http://www.cargiant.co.uk/BMW/3-seri...asp?viewtype=0 Anybody else noticed this before? |

Probably using up some M57 engines, (or new engine demands) as the 325d did move to N57 production by first quarter 2010.
The E60/1 520d was a similar thing, LCI continued with the M47 for a few months before it changed to the N47 engine. HighlandPete |

It's just a strange almost pikey thing for BMW to do as the two engines really are totally different and have different running characteristics. The M57 if anything is a smoother engine imo.
