Qualify for extended warranty??
Hi
I am just wondering how you qualify for extended bmw warranty?.. My car is just over 4 yrs old and has had 4bmw stamps from sytner birmingham. As there is no official service schedule as car tell you when to service i would have thought that 1 service a year should be ok? Or do you have to extend as soon as your standard one runs out after 3 yrs?? Also roughly how much would it be as its on 82k and is a 335d Thanks for your help J |

You have to many miles to qualify for the extended warranty plan. The extended warranty plan only goes up to 100k and you're fairly close to that. You should've thought about this a lot of miles ago. I'm pretty sure you have to purchase the extended warranty before or right after your original warranty expires. Good luck.

Also you dont have to buy the extended warranty straight after, yes it does help if you do with a lower premium. I bought my car out of dealer network and opted out of the aftermarket warranties available. I actually bought the bmw ext warranty 3 months after I bought the car Anything after the 100k mark you can only get the drive line cover The only thing is with more miles the higher the premium will be. say for example someone with 40k miiles will pay cheaper premium to say someone taking out at 80k miles. I took comprehensive out at 90k miles mark, so it is possible to get bmw insured warranty As above fill out the form and get a quote |

With BMW warranty, do you have to have the car serviced by a BMW main dealer or can a specialist be used?? I have had a very good specialist recommended to me and would rather use them than a main dealer, but I would also like to take out a warranty on my car. My car has got a full main dealer S/H so far.

I think it needs to have a full BMW history and that needs to be continued.

I believe the requirements have very recently changed to vat registered garages using genuine BMW parts and schedules. Search on here for ' important news about extended warranty'
Hope this helps. David |

Great I found this thread. Just went to get a quote for my 2008 e93 and I was quoted £42 a month with £250 excess (comprehensive cover). Just a bit puzzled with this text on the product confirmation page:
"I can confirm that my vehicle has been fully serviced in accordance with the manufacturing recommendations/intervals and has not been modified in anyway. I accept that my warranty/assistance package will commence on 10 August 2012 and will not cover any pre-existing faults or defects that occur prior to the warranty inception." What do they mean by modified, suppose i added a lip spoiler or changed rims, would that affect cover? About pre-exisiting faults, would they check out the car before the policy commences? Thanks for any input |

Definitely worth it. If you have one thing go wrong, it's likely it will more than pay for itself. I recently had a turbo failure at less than 60k miles which was all fixed under the BMW Insured warranty. Also had a couple of smaller issues fixed under it too.

I've just remembered that BMW didn't send me a warranty renewal letter this year and my warranty has lapsed by a couple of weeks, grrrr. I got a quote off the BMW warranty website and it came to twice what I paid last year
Is this cos it lapsed or cos I had some minor warranty work done on the car last year??? Anyone else had this? g |

They can't force you down the dealer servicing during manufacturers warranty or after it. As long as you use VAT registered garage and BMW quality parts you can extend and keep an extended warranty. All repair work has to be done at BMW dealers though. |

Just phoned bmw. £245.12 for an oil change and micro filter
That's absolutely ludicrous! Almost £180 more expensive than my local independent I think it's time to interrupt my BMW service stamps |
