Almost time to get yo BOBA on... from the comfort of your car!

Sup sup all. Most of you know that I'm a HUGE boba fan. I get my daily fix just about every day, but there's always ONE thing that might get in the way - I'm too damn lazy to get outta my car. Am I the ONLY one?!?! I don't think so.....

BAMM...here ya go!

http://www.facebook.com/drivethruboba

I'm excited to finally be able to share the news with you - we're opening up a legit milk tea boba stand that is a real drive-thru (we gotta a walk-up window too, but that's another story)! We're getting the special stuff flown all the way in from Taiwan and I'm even gonna pull an authentic HK milk tea thru a friggin PANTYHOSE (omg....that's right! ask those in the know if ya don't know!).

Drive Thru Boba is in the Factoria area in Bellevue, sharing the corner of the 76 gas station. We should be open sometime next week. Please like us on FB and get the word out, especially to all the girly boba fans!

I'll be updating our FB page and also our website (http://www.drivethruboba.com) with pics and details of our menu soon. We're making our own ice cream and will also have some grubilicious curry fish balls. More stuff to come as we gradually introduce more items onto the menu.

Thanks for looking and look forward to seeing you all come thru the DRIVE THRU!

My wife figured that somewhere in LA, there HAD to be one already. Negativo.

She figured that somewhere local, where even bikinis are in stands, we'd have one already. Nope.

I figured that somewhere in this great land of the free, someone had one opened by now. WRONG again.

So we just had to get it done. It took some time to nail down our recipes just so. I would say, if you're travelled back to asia (Taiwan especially) in the last 3 years, you'll be very happy with our product. It's authentic and tasty as hell.

And the best part, like you agree, is that you can stay in your car too! Thanks for the support so far guys. I promise you, it'll be worth the visit.

A boba is just a large tapioca ball. But that's like calling a BMW, your bimmer, JUST a 4-wheel car. Lo, it's wayyyyyyyy better than just a car or a large tapioca ball!

A boba can be made incorrectly and it can be made correctly. There's poor quality boba and there's top notch quality boba. There's boba made here in the US of A or China and there's boba made in Taiwan. There's also a 'Top Ramen' type of boba and there's a hand-made freshly made boba. Quite a difference between the two indeed!

Furthermore, just like how a good cook can turn a simple egg into something really special, we also have our own secrets. We start off with one of the highest quality 'fresh' boba that can be purchased here in the US and through a series of very precise steps, we wind up with something that has the perfect 'tooth bounce', a honey-caramel sweetness from sticky-gooey coating all the way into it's chewy core, a sexy dark alluring color, and for those in the know, the perfect size for a phat boba straw to suck up in unison with a good ratio of your tasty (usually cold) beverage.

Voila magic! Seriously, we made a damn good boba to go with our drinks! You'll taste the difference.

Don't be afraid my friend....I'll slide a few of these glorious balls into your cup and you can decide if we've won you over, ok? We have 2 more really 'traditional in taiwanese terms' things to accompany your beverage - caramel pudding (flan) and wheat germ (toasted, roasted, crunchy, munchy little flakes). We got you covered!

PLEASE REMEMBER TO LIKE US ON FACEBOOK TO STAY TUNED IN WITH OPENING DATES AND MENU UPDATES!

Thanks everyone!

I totally hear ya Stretch! But think of it this way....when I'm down in Irvine, Roland Heights, MP, Westminster, SD, S.Monica (virtually anywhere in SoCal), the weather makes for PERFECT peeps watching. Up here, our temps are on the more moderate to cooler side - we actually prefer *cough* are more *cough* lazy *cough* to stay in our cars! I've never seen so many drive-thru ATMs, coffee stands, Starbucks, donut shops, etc etc etc. I just had to make it happen, right?

On the flip side tho, there's a nice big parking lot across the street that everyone can hang out at AFTER picking up a boba and giving a lil rev or 2 while pulling out into the street.

You got:

1) boba CHECK
2) place to park CHECK
3) excuse to rev CHECK
4) beautiful peeps in and out of cars CHECK

It ain't nirvana, but we got ya covered my friend! Make the trip up sometime and please bring me some Boiling Crab plz!

Adrian Adrian Adrian.... taro used to be my fav standby for powdered flavor back in the day and Bay (I'm totally with ya!). Here at DTB, I'm gonna hook you and ur lady up with a true shaken milk tea, straight and strong tea flavor with a caramel/molasses sweet finish and topped with that easy-to-spot foamy head (just like a properly pulled Guinness)! Ice cold and super smooth - it'll getcha goin. =)

As far as powdered milk, there's many grades of quality and taste. We use the one used by all the best shops in Taipei. I won't cheap out and I will stick to the authentic way to make it. Stuff is not premade and delivered in chilled jugs. We make it fresh each day, several times throughout the day. The boba - we'll dump a batch after 4 hours (if it lasts that long) and have a fresh one ready to go - it's that critical to our promise of quality. Like StarB's will dump a pot of coffee after 15min, we will do the same with our brewed tea and boba. That's just how to make sure we give you the best we can.

You will indeed both be VERY HAPPY!!! I promise I'll take care of ya, aight?
