Upgrade from stock steering wheel
I have a stock non sport steering wheel. I would really like a sport steering wheel. BMW quoted me at 4900 for parts.
Am I a cheap bastard or is there an easy way to acquire the right parts. I assume I will need a new airbag as it looks to be a different shape. Can I do this my self and is the car smart enough to tell me if the airbag is going to work if I swap it ? |

I believe you'll need an Airbag, possibly a harness?, wheel, trim, and buttons. Most people sell wheel, trim and buttons without airbag. Then, most people also sell just wheel and you have to source your own airbag, trim, buttons, etc. Airbags are about $300, trim is about $80. I'm not sure if you can use your stock buttons...
I'm in the same boat as you. haha |
