Blow off valve
I recently came across a guy selling a HKS SSQV Limited Edition Black BOV with UR Chargepipe. He is asking about $325 for it. My question (well actually questions) is should I get it? Are they any good? Should I save up and maybe buy something like a new Active Autowerke bov instead? Should I even get a bov to begin with?

Why do you think you need this? You have a NA 06 330i?

Still don't need it, and yes it will affect your warranty.

You do not need one with the standard turbo setup, but if you like the "whoosh" sound when you change gears, go for it. I have the BMW ppk package, and have no aftermarket blow off valve (and no problems btw).
Good luck with your decision

I think I'm going to go ahead and buy it. In about another two weeks I should be able to afford a JB4 as well. I know some people say the bov makes the car kinda rice but fuck it lol. At the end of the day it's my car not the critic's right?

It's good to see someone who has some balls every now and then. Too many peeps around here who listen to everyone and their mother and remove their shite, or don't do it at all. Good luck pa.

OP, you "could" just disconnect the diverter valve hoses for basically a free BOV, then put that money towards a set of downpipes. That's what i'd do unless your stock DV's are leaking boost. |

I happen to like the "wooshh" sound. I jus ordered the Awe Tuning Bov alone without CP for $329 so u shld get it, i would if i could get the setup u mentioned especially for $325.

I am contemplating a BOV too, mostly because I think it's a cool sound. Haters be damned, lol

Haha shit if you like it then get it. Who gives a flying fuck? Just as long as you're not one of these guys that slaps on a fart cannon and calls it an exhaust. Hate those people. Their car sounds like a damn race car but theyre only going like 20. As far as I'm concerned, a modification that is actually functional and increases performance should not be considered rice. SO therefore I say get it.

My cousin had one on his old 335. just swap it out with the original one if you need to go to the dealer.
oh man...it was pure sex listing to the sweet sounds. Especially when all the WRX kids hear it. |
