So I have been preparing for a track day for a few months thinking cooling would be an issue. I have 2007 E93 with AT, Procede, ER FMIC, ER Charge pipe, Forge DV, DCI, AR catless DP, ER Dual oil cooler. On the track (Homestead) in Manual mode coming out of tight turns I accel with stuttering accel up to about 5500 rpm when I get the 1/2 yellow Check Engine symbol with about 50% power. Being part way around the track I put it in D mode and slowly pull to the side ready to pit. Light goes away,...so I chose to go back around taking it a little easier and shifting at 5000 rpm. Light comes on again in similar situation. Session almost over...pit...light goes away before I make it to my pit area. No code on my OBD2 reader.

Next session same thing light comes on but this time it stays on. I pit and in my excitement to read the code I turn off the car out of habit (I know I should not have) and when turned on again,...gone.

Car has 56K miles. I have had my HPFP replaced under warranty about 28k miles ago. Had 4 of the 6 injectors replaced undere warranty about 20K miles ago. Had all spark plugs changed about 10K miles ago. My coils and Vanos are still original. So I will replace those.

I realize I need a better code reader like the BT one but I guess I figured the Procede would read these codes. Sadly it does not.

Could it be the other 2 injectors? HPFP again...? Vanos and/or coils which I plan to replace? OR carbon build up on Intake valves? I dont think this was a cooling issue as I didnt get the temp symbol. I also have a PLX Device OBD2 gauge that shows coolant temps were in the normalish range.

Any other ideas? Thanks!!

This seemed like a peculiar way of having the CEL come on and go off while the car was still running. I had not seen anyone describe this before. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

put canclear OFF and read the codes when they popup again. seems like a missfire though considering it goes off after a while.

It does:

Read DME Codes
○ Turn the Ignition on with the engine off
○ Press the throttle to the floor and release the throttle completely
○ The codes will be displayed on the PROcede data log screen under CAN
DME Codes
○ DME Code list: http://www.vishnutuningforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22

OR go to the Command Center (Ignition ON, engine not running), Mode 3 (3000RPM on the tach), command 1 (10kph on the speedo). SES indicator should flash in sequence the 5-digit code (decimal), then convert to hexadecimal and look up on the above Vishnu Tuning link.

Thanks. I tried the throttle to the floor deal last night but it didnt work. I think the CAN Clear was still on because I left the settings at their default and I should have turned it off as enrita said. I will try to turn it off and induce the code but that may be a bit difficult whre I live.

If I get ahold of a BT code reader now would that show the code at this point if "Cleared" by Procede?
