Please forgive me if this has been asked before, but I did search and didn't see anything recent.

I'm definitely going to get the 7 spoke CSL-ish wheels (as opposed to the 8 spoke CSLs) for my new-to-me 335is.

I understand that for 3.5-5K I can get a forged set from Morr, BBS and others, but if I don't go that route, what factors do people use to choose between the nearly identical looking options from AG (310), Miro (111), VMR (710), Alufelgen (SF-71) and others?

Also for a guy who lives in an area with pretty decent roads, doesn't do any tracking on the weekends but occasionally winds it out to 120 or 130 on the open highway, is the strength of forged necessary/a significant benefit?

I got AG M310 wheels. When I first decided on what I wanted it was between those and VMRs because they seem more popular to me and I read reviews so I was comfortable with going with a brand people experienced before and I could read on it, I didn't know much about Micro or Alufelgen at the time. I did more research and found out both VMR 710 and AG 310 were identical in style but AG had a stronger quality so I went with that.

I recently been seeing a lot of pictures of Micro 111s and I really like how they look, I think its the same quality as AG (low pressure cast/OEM strength) so I might have went with those looking back. Also, I heard Alufelgen wheels are powercoated? Someone had told me my AG 310s were painted, but I dont know. So that could factor in for you. Hope this helped!

I went with the SF71's for the reason that I like the design in particular the most and I wanted a gravity cast wheel. I had enough 3 piece wheels to know that they bend pretty easy and killing lips on potholes happened more than a few times.

I am very happy with the SF-71's btw. the finish is excellent the overall look and concavity of the wheels is superb and the fitment (offset and size) was exactly what I wanted.

I will probably get the Morr V8.2's I love the look, love the concave, i had my rims with lips and i just find that the concave looks is that much more elegant!

My sf-71 have paint issues, it has chipped all over. Looking into a powder coat now. Pretty strong wheels though, even though I bent one on road debris.

We definitely would recommend AG or VMR! Both are very good brand.

I've had a set of Miro and that was the first wheel I EVER bent. BUT it seems the 111 are made better then the 279 that I had.

I wish people would see this!!! A lot of people think 3 piece/forged wheels are indestructible. They will bend just like any other wheels if enough pressure is present.

3-piece gives you more than strength. Modular = replace a component instead of an entire wheel.

I did get them during the pre-order so I guess the wear and tear is expected. Been trying to find a cheap set to roll on while getting them repaired.

That is true no agrument, but replacing lips and barrels multiple times is not that fun either. What I guess I should say is that I loved my 3 piece wheels no doubt, but as for using them on my daily driver for everyday use, I would not do again.

Already had VMR and Miro. Maybe I had bad luck but every wheel of both sets bent (as did every other 335 owner I knew with the same wheels). I swore to myself I was done with crappy reps, but I really liked the SF71s. With them actually being load rated to above the factory wheel, I decided to give them a chance. I also bought them from DTMrack, who gives you a 50% discount on wheels bought to replace bent ones. I hope that the third time is the charm, and the Alufelgens hold up better than the others.

I daily drive on 3pc CCWs; zero problems.

I went with the CS7's for 3 reasons:

1. Low-pressure cast (strength)
2. Most accurate rep of the original CSL wheels
3. Powdercoat


Although, I did like how concave the VMR VB3's are...(the 19x10's)

I have avant garde m310 I like them except the way the spokes come out past the edge of the wheel in the front. If I were to do it over again I'd get linea corse 818's. Whatever you get make sure it's at least low pressure cast.

Btw I don't think forgestars are that much more expensive.

I went with forgestar f14's about 300 dollars more. Wide variety of offsets,widths and colors. Best looking non generic style in my opinion. Plus it seems not as many people have them anymore
