What is the widest tire that can be used in front and in back?

you are going to have to be more specific as to what kind of rims you are using. Tire width depends on what size rims you have.

if you roll your fenders front adn back, im sure with the right offsets, you can get a 255 in up front and 295 in the rear... may still rub a little... but may be possible.
