Anybody know of a DIY car wash in San Diego?
Hey, I wanted to know if any of you guys know of a DIY car wash in San diego preferably in La Jolla, Clairemont, or Mira Mesa area? What I mean by DIY car wash is that they have a port where you put coins in and it allows you to wash your car your-self with the supplied washing equipment.

There is a great DIY carwash with automated touchless wash just east of I-15 on 9th street (auto parkway is the the west of 15/same street). The DIY bays take debit and they are always stocked with product, it's only 2.00 for 6 minutes on the pressure washer.

There is one in the Mission Gorge area, on Mission Gorge Rd near the Micky Ds.
Also one near Aero Drive too.

Dude.. that is a hell of a long way for a car wash! The location he is talking about is in Escondido.. at least 30 minutes away from La Jolla. Unless you drive like me, then 20 mins.. LOL
I believe there is a place in PB, maybe on Garnet.. can't remember. I could only find a car wash called Kujo's and can't tell if its a DIY. I think there is still one in OB on Voltaire street down by the beach. There are two in my neighborhood in the SDSU area both on El Cajon Blvd. One is near 70th and the other is near 50th I believe. I see them all the time, but haven't gone to one in a while, since I have a hose.. LOL Can't think of any in La Jolla.. However, there is a pretty good hand car wash (not do it yourself) in Sorrento Valley on Mira Mesa Blvd. right off the 805. Its in the same parking lot as Staples and McDonnalds. Its called Americana Car Wash. There is also a hand car wash (not diy) in La Jolla on Prospect.. but you probably know about those.. Americana Car Wash Address: 9510 Scranton Rd, San Diego, CA 92121 Phone: (858) 646-0057 Here is a DIY one on El Cajon blvd. I think its a little nicer than the one on 50th, but its still kinda far from La Jolla... B & H Self-Svc Car Wash Address: 6916 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115 Phone: (619) 464-8787 Here is the one near 50th C J Hands On Car Care Ctr Address: 4951 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115 Phone: (619) 265-2836 Good luck.. |

Hey markinsd thank a lot for the help, do you by any chance know where the aero drive one is near? Thanks again and for some reason even though I live in La Jolla which is a nice area I rarely see 335i's around.

I usually go to 32nd St Naval Base. Yeah, I'm active duty so I can get on base. I bring my own washing supplies and only use their high pressure spray. That's it. |

Maybe another member in La Jolla with a driveway/water access would let you come over to wash your car. |

I am a single grad student In UCSD and I live in a apartment with a underground parking garage thus I have no driveway to wash my car. Also a DIY car wash is a lot better then taking it to some carwash that will put swirl marks on my jetblack paint.

There is a major gas station located on Torey Pines Rd. I wash my car there twice a week $8.50 a pop on the way from work. It is a high pressure touchless booth that does all the work for you. When you roll out, the guys who work there will dry your car with microfiber towels. Highly recommend.
