OK, so I figured I would post how EASILY I found to paint my stock wheels.
Had some wheels that came on my car when I bought it, didn't like em too much so i bought some other wheels along with tires. After I'd run my "bought" tires to the ground, literally, instead of just buying new tires for my current wheels, I decided to get my DIY on & paint the ones that had been sitting in my garage. What you need: index cards engine spray paint (i used matte black) engine clear coat windex or a wheel cleaner THIS IS EXTREMELY SIMPLE TO DO: 1) CLEAN WHEELS COMPLETELY - NO DIRT, BREAK DUST, ETC... 2) PLACE THE INDEX CARDS ALONG THE WHEELS BETWEEN THE WHEEL & TIRE 3) SPRAY LIGHT COATS AT A TIME ON EACH WHEEL (I DID 6 COATS. DO WHAT YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH) 4) ALLOW EACH COAT TO DRY FOR 15-20 MINS 5) AFTER LAST COAT IS ON, NOW SPRAY THE CLEAR COAT ON. DO THE SAME THING AS THE SPRAY PAINT... DO HOWEVER MANY COATS YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH & ALLOW 15-20 MINS FOR EACH COAT TO DRY. 6) ALLOW OVERALL PRODUCT TO DRY OVERNIGHT, AT LEAST. I ONLY LET MINE DRY FOR ABOUT 4 HOURS & HAD NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. Hope this gives some of the ladies confidence to DIY! From a lady to a lady - GOOD LUCK! ![]() |
