Smile Beast to MONSTER…. my 330d has been REMAPPED!!

Car: BMW E90 330D M Sport (pre lci)
Transmission: Manual

I always had plans to get the 330D mapped so took the plunge and went over to MORE BHP in Crewe to get it done on Friday.

I was met by Jaosn and Mike who were very helpful and willing to answer any questions or queries I had before the map.

As they already have a bmw E90 330d as a ‘project car’ they knew exactly what it can do in reality!!

We put it on the dyno to get some pre map results and to my surprise it produced 238 bhp (7 more then standard)… so that was a good start.

Then Jason and Mike did their ‘magic’ and turned my beast to the monster it is now!

Post remap results showed the bhp had increased to 285bhp and torque went from the standard 500 to 613!!

I couldn’t wait to get in it and feel the difference and so I did and boy does it go now… not that it didn’t shift before, as it bloody well did!!

The ‘push back in your seat’ feeling comes much quicker in the rev range and you can floor that much more in its gear before having to change.

All I can say the drive home was fun

On the motorway (top end) it just wanted to keep going but heavy traffic meant I couldn't really push it.

The mpg increased a little pretty much straight away but not had it mapped long enough to make any comparitives just yet.

Will post pics later…

FINALLY a big thanks to both Mike and Jason over at MORE-BHP and if anyone wants a remap I would defo recommend these guys.

I love diesel remaps aswell. You just seem to get so much from these 6 cylinder machines. I'm glad your happy with it. Don't be upsetting other drivers now though haha. These bmw diesel really are wolves in sheep's clothing. How much did it set you back?

Yep they really do have mental torque!

I thought my 330i was quick (and it is) but these feckin things even without a remapp are ridiculous!

I'm stoked!

Sounds great, nice one.
However, driving a manual myself, I'm sure were concerns with the manual box and it not being able to cope with the extra torque? Autos are fine apparently (hence why the 335d is auto only).

Having spoken to guys at more bhp and other threads I've read, no probs in getting 330d manuals mapped.

I remember going out in Anthony's (SpeedReligion) remapped manual 330d and was completely blown away by it. He also had performance brakes, exhaust and a couple of other mods. Stunning car. Food for thought Raffers .

A re-mapped manual 330d is a real weapon on the road - but can also turn nasty if you're not careful. You'll have to be a little more alert as to when and where you nail it. Enjoy - but be careful.
