The rover is powered by nuclear power packs. That may be what those symbols are for.

I got the reference because the wife freakin loves this show for some reason, and I am forced to watch sometimes. I just don't see the appeal.

ya, the last one went into hibernation mode to sleep for the mars winter but it never woke up : <. It was also very different. It did nothing compared to the new one xD.
