I like the answer above... I knew what it meant, but didn't understand what it described. That's what I get for thinking...

Since this is asking for the meaning of various initialisms, I'll define these, since, I'm sure someone will be asking this in the future:

FMIC: Front mounted intercooler (it has an FMIC already, you'd be getting a bigger one for the 335i, so, when someone says FMIC, they mean "a bigger FMIC")

DP: Downpipes. They are where the exhaust gas exits from the turbochargers. There are already downpipes in the current 335, so getting DP's means "getting bigger ones".

Exhaust: this one's obvious. It's a different exhaust system.

CP: Charge pipe. It routes the pressurized air from the intercooler (the FMIC, in this case) to the intake manifold.

I've been wondering this as well. Thanks for finally dredging up an adequate answer. I knew if meant "Full Bolt On" but didn't know what that encompassed. Interesting that it doesn't include bigger turbos as those are technically "bolt on"

In the 2.7TT S4 world, where I'm coming from, we had

Stage I = Chip
Stage II = Stage I + Downpipes, Exhuast
Stage II+ = Stage II + Intercoolers
Stage III- =Stage II + Bigger Turbos
Stage III = Stage II + Bigger Turbos + Fueling
Stage III+ = Scary.

Not to thread-jack, but it seems like bigger turbos are not that common here- any reason?

The stock turbos are seeing 450whp and 500lbs of torque on some dynojets. A lot of power comes from them, upped twin turbos are also nice for an additional 50-60whp, there really are a lot of guys running them, you just need to look a little closer at some people's sig's, some don't post too often

Jesus a thread for this? The amount of threads made for stuff like this lately is mind blowing. Google could've told you the answer...

Ye, also I’m pretty sure relocated intake ($300) inlets can make 50whp more! I saw a 394whp Stage 2+ go up to 450whp with the relocated inlets
