ER CP install

Hi Guys,

A friend and I just installed my ER CP along with a HFS4 meth kit.

I;ve been getting 2ABC and 3100 codes the second I start the car. First thought is I either did not hook up the Tmap correctly or I damaged it.

A couple of questions to those who installed their CPs and please check my installation for errors.

1) The tmap sensor: I simply unscrewed it and installed it on the new ER CP. no rubber orings. Does that seem right ? or is there a rubber ring?

2) the rubber O ring that is supplied with the CP and this a stupid question, we installed it on the intercooler side since I have a metallic pipe from the intercooler (ETS) which means I couldn't leave without an O ring. Now the throttle body side is installed with that clip only, no rubber o ring. is that wrong?

You're supposed to recycle the O-ring from your OEM CP at that TB connection and pop it right into the same spot on the ER CP. Without it, you're gonna have that boost leak b/c there's no airtight seal. Try and see if you can get another one from a Dealer Service Dept. or Tischer

There is an O-ring on the Tmap and a large O ring on the CP that connects to the TB if I recall correctly.

Yeah there should be a blueish O-Ring on the Tmap sensor and you re-use your original O-Ring from the OE CP on the throttle body side.

Yup guys, you are right. I did forget the O ring from the OEM CP. My friend and I were exhausted after a long day of work installing the HFS4 and we probably missed it.
Thanks guys!

Benzy another question for you buddy, did you screw that bracket on the CP to the car? My friend is telling a lot of people with ER aren't because it creates tension and boost leaks.

Bracket = That unnecessary mounting bracket between the meth bungs & the 1st DV? I'm not 100% sure, I can look at my engine tomorrow (when the sun's out) & give you an honest answer

Put it on without making it too tight and throw a pair of rubber washers under it to give it slight movement.

When using couplers and clamps too rigid of a system is a bad thing and too loose of a system is also a bad thing. Flex joints FTW

I'll go with your recommendation. leave some room for movement/dampening with rubber washers

Looks like your venting one DV and recirculating the other? How is that working for you? I have an issue routing my recirc hose to the front intake track with my Injen intake installed. I usually have the kink the hose to get it to fit and it creates a leak when I get it all crammed in there. I always felt like the car had more response when recirculating but I would love vent that one side if I could to avoid the kinked hoses. If ER could chime in on the proper way to route the hoses for the DV's once the pipe was installed. I have been running this pipe for about a year and my only complaint is that its such a pita to get the dv's situated with the injen intake.

If its causing a lot of tension, I wouldn't. I didn't use it on my car. I like a little flex.

I remounted using that bracket. 6 months later no boost leaks and everything still looks good.

BTW, how did the HFS-4 install go marwan? Glad i could help you with your question the other night

Well the reason I'm venting one to the atmosphere is the helix intake I got. It wouldn;t with the hose so had to get rid of it .
It's been running that way for 6 months now... no issues. You will hear a slight woosh sound. I personally don't like the woosh thing, but it's not that loud.

Hey buddy

Installation went smoothly although took the whole day. A friend helped by doing most of the trunk to front routing.

We messed up one thing though. Forgot to get that rubber seal out of the old charge pipe. So I'm getting 2ABC and 3100 the second I start the car. I'll fix it tomorrow.

I was able to purge the system but couldn't test it yet since I have no boost.

Btw I jumped on an e-tune so once I get the car back up and running properly, e-tune it is

Thanks for the help
