What kind of diff fluid should i use?

Hey guys,

Ive posted on here that i have some rear end noise coming from my diff and before i just go ahead and replace it, i was gonna try to change the fluid and see what happens. My question is what kind should i go with that would be the best for what im trying to accomplish. I know redline is about the best and most highly suggested, but what kind should i go with... regular, synthetic, 75w90 or something heavier... let me know! thanks!

I used royal purple 75-140 on my xi. Very happy. Had a small leak, dont know exactly from where), went away after fluid change. Viscosity difference in old vs new fluid...

Easy diy too.

My votes:

Redline 75W90
Amsoil 75W90 (SVG)

I've used both in BMWs with success for over a decade.
