Clutch Question

Hi All,

I am wondering if people can help me out with a noise I am hearing. Whenever I quickly engage my clutch, in my 335xi, to change gears I am hearing a "grind" or "bang". I don't think this is right, has anybody else heard something similar? Is this because I am engaging my clutch to fast, or could it be a problem that i need looked at?

The sound is hard to describe but its more of a bang then of a grind. Also do people normally engage their clutch quickly, or slowly?

Sorry if this is a noob question but I am still fairly new at manual transmissions.

Thanks for any help/suggestions.
