this one is a wierd one

i have a 2007 335i 92,000 miles Automatic transmission and have been chasing this issue for awhile now. from 3000 rpm to 4200 rpm i have a major stutter in power, feels like turbo lag plus a lot of shaking. sometimes it will work through it, and sometimes i will through a misfire in cyliner 1 code. I have replaced the injector, all six plugs, and all 6 coils. I am stuck. Could it be my factory charge pipe?

Above 4200 rpm the car is strong, plenty of power, and below it runs great on the highway. it only happens when i throttle down or put it in manual mode to get on it.

please help

all stock other than injen dual cone

Have you checked for fault codes?

Check my post in the warranty section and follow along. My local dealership has had my car for a week straight trying to diagnose the same issue with BMW engineers. Fortunately my issue is being covered under warranty.

My scanner is only showing misfire cylinder 1 only when the dash light comes on. I can feather the throttle through the rpm range to keep the light off. If i go full throttle it will do the hesitation and throw a code.

I can only think it could be carbon build up on the valves or a boost leak, the turbos are solid outside of the 3000-4200rpm range, and i have no wastegate rattle.

My issue is similar to yours except it happens under WOT as well. I can be in it WOT on the freeway, throw the code, go into limp mode, and without turning the car off it will come out of limp mode, the light will shut off, and power is back. It happens everytime in that specific rpm range whether it be moderate or aggressive throttle. If i baby it, or feather the throttle i can make it through without a stutter

This is essentially what happened to me the last time that it occured bad enough to throw the check engine light. Ran like crap until I let off the throttle and exited the freeway. Coasting down the offramp, the CEL went off and the car returned to normal.

Did you install the decoupler element on the injector when you replaced it? Do the others have them?

i had the local bmw dealership install it, I would assume they did. The problem was before i replaced it, and it hasn't change since. Right now I am throwing parts at it hoping i find it.

Don't assume they did. They forgot to put it on all 6 of my injectors for my first injector replacement set.

Check your part receipt from the work or call and have them look into it.

I have thought about the walnut blasting, but would dirty valves only limit that specific rpm range?

Dealership got back to me today. They have determined the cylinder head needs to be replaced because two of the injectors are not seating correctly. Also, there now seems to be a question of warranty coverage.
