My brother had a Merc and the interior was awful. Really plasticy and not too well screwed together. Input from Chrysler likely the blame! I hope your's proves otherwise. Glad to hear you're keeping the 335....you haven't gone completely to the 'dark side'

I think possibly this was a fault with previous generation mercs. My dad's C class (which he just replaced with a new 520d) was a bit plasticy and always in the garage...... I know Merc were heavily criticised for cutting a corner too far not too long ago with results like the last ML class and them featuring way down reliability/build quality results. From recent cars like CLS (and I suspect the new C) I think they've stepped back up the quality.
I'd love a C63 but unfortunately would have to spend every last penny to get one and my wife would leave me, *especially* if I had ordered it and not discussed!!!!

Carl... dunno if anyone has a better pic as it doesn't appear to be publicised yet but here's a spy shot:
http://www.buscatuning.com/blog/foto...g-c63-1jpg.jpg Think new C class but with an AMG transformation and a 6.3 litre (?) hand built engine - bit like if you compare a CLS and a CLS AMG or any of the standard mercs vs AMG models. Just make sure yours is built by Klaus Shmidt and not Hans Sh1t.

thanks sheps i now recognise the shape of the merc, this amg one looks SOOOO much better than the 'cooking' variant
![]() like what i am seeing in the pic, but not liking the humungous star in the grill, a smaller more subtle one would have done ![]() also the front wing does not match the door very well colour wise ![]() whats the specs on this car? good choice Stevie Ash ![]()

The big star in the grill is a new thing for the C class I believe. The big badge sticking up on the front has always put me off mercs - I nearly bought an E55 once but missus just kept harping on about the badge sticking up. To me it looks like you should get out wearing robes and sandals (don't mean anything racist by that) and is a bit "look at my sticky up badge" so in the new C Class depending on whether you choose the sport model or not you get a grille badge or a sticky up badge.
I think the new C class looks the nuts and I'd have strongly considered one if it was out when I ordered mine.

Sport and AMG models have the larger, grille-based badge - the non-sport models utlilise a bonnet mounted Merc badge - easy to now distinguish the sport and non-sport models.
Last week Autocar claimed the C63 was the most compelling and complete Mercedes since the 190 cosworth of the early-mid eighties. Make no mistake, this car will be an absolute barnstormer, and will give the new M3 a real hard time; AMG have really pushed the boat out with this model, it's not just a regular version C class with a glut of hp & torque, it's the first AMG to offer the ability to turn the TC off properly, a sign that the chassis is as well engineered as the engine.
