Pan Roof Query??

I know there aren't many around but here goes:-

Noticed some velcro stuck to the underside of the glass:

I've not put it there but was wondering if this was a fix (albeit a cheap one) by BMW that a previous owner had done to cure the slight rattling that occurs over bumpy surfaces. Anyone else got this?

That doesn't look standard, can't comment on the roof for an E9x but my last two X5 had a pano roof and nothing like that is attached.

my e90 estate didn't have that and my e70 doesnt have that either...

Same here, nor should it rattle!

Wouldn't have thought it was a bmw fix either. Is the car under warranty, if so I would get that looked at and fixed properly.

That is odd, mine has nothing like that.

What is it like with the front panel tilted? Maybe they stuck something to the Velcro? Kids mobile?!

If it is for rattles I'm sure you could do a much better job!

Thanks for replies, the rattle occurs from the trim by the velcro rubbing on the glass, (not severe really can't hear it with the blind closed - and obviosuly goes when on slide or tilt). I'll remove the velcro and try something more purposeful (and hidden).

You never know with BMW about fixes I had a Mini once with a rattle from the boot striker and catch - they wrapped the striker in insultating tape and tried charging me £35 for the fix!!
