Procede Problem or ......

I installed the procede and for the first week felt great. Yesterday on my way to do my first dyno run the car felt like the power dropped off. I dissmissed it and thought i was getting use to the power. Well i was wrong, did the dyno and only produced 300WHP ft/lbs reading wasn't working. Dyno was at sea level and temp was about 75F. The car also showed signs of many flat spots...i'm not sure what's going wrong... I was running map 1.47 Shiv could you help with this ???????????

I will upload dyno sheets later today. Any help would be great!

get it set up by a mapper maybe he/she could sort out any 'flat spots' you are encountering at some rev ranges

There is no need to do any custom mapping with the PROcede. There should be no flatspots in the powerband. Just make sure you are running premium top tier fuel and you should be fine. Also, make sure the two vacuum lines on the hose coupler are on tight and have no leaks/tears. That's really are there is to it

code 0228 is throttle position sensor related. And the PROcede doesn't have anything to do with that sensor. Either you extracted the wrong wire from the ECU connector or the entire connector isn't snug on the ECU.

code 335 is a crankshaft sensor code. The PROcede does use this sensor. You will throw a code if the connection is flakey (see above). Or if the wire was put back in the wrong slot. Or if you are using the wrong power source for the PROcede. Make sure you use the 40 or 50amp fuse, not the 10amp fuse next to them.

This is a mass air flow sensor code. The car doesn't have a mass airflow sensor so i'm a little stumped. You've had the PROcede for a while. When did it start happening. Under what conditions? Does it induce a low boost mode?

Hey Shiv,

OK i cleared the codes took the car for a 30min drive and all codes are gone. I think they were just stored from when i did the install and tried to load an old map with the new software. Still have flat spots in power and remember i only turned 299WHP on the dyno and that was my best run. Worst run was 286WHP. i'm going to email you the data log hopefully that helps.

Thanks Again,

Adam

Yes, that would do it. Just upload the map that comes loaded into the PROcede (v1.47) using the user software that is downloadable from the website. As for the power number, my suggestion is to run through your tank of gas and fill up with a good premium fuel. Also, without knowing the dyno testing procedures (fan placement, gear, dyno type, etc,.), dyno numbers themselves don't tell me a whole lot.

Did you also check if you installed the PROceed correctly as Shiv requested?

Did you reset the ECU ? Procede Reader v1.01 - Comms - reset ECU ( must be connected to the PROcede for performing this function ).

There is no need for a user to ever do this. The reset feature is for development use only. Although there is no harm in doing so.

If he's not throwing any codes during driving, the unit is installed properly. If he's not making the power, the problem has always turned out to be gas related.

The loss of power was felt after 3/4 of a tank of the fuelwas already used.

I'm running Cheveron 94 which is the highest you can get where i live. I have always used this fuel in my race bikes and formula cars, i'm pretty sure that's not the problem...

I'm going to go to the tunning shop and get a file that i can send of the dyno particulars and dyno run results.

Should i send it to shiv@vishnutunning.com ?

Ya same here.

Its just under normal driving conditions. It never threw it until i switched to version 1.45 - 1.47.

Even when it does throw it theres no performance difference I can notice. I just have been clearing the code with the reader. But its getting to the point where it throws it probably 3 times a day.

Nope doesnt go into limp. I think ive been into limp 3 times the whole ive had procede.

Hey Shiv or anyone...

Here is the video of the two dyno pulls. It shows the computer screen with the graph. Watch to the end of the video and listen to the guy talk about the graph after the 2nd pull.

Thanks,

Adam

Is the hood closed? And where is the ventiliation for the exhaust gases? Looks like the dyno is backed up against a wall. And is there a powerful fan in front of the car? It would have been nice to see what is going on as far as engine cooling goes.

For some reason that graph looks really weird... Out of curiousity did you any stock dyno pulls? I would like to see those.

What does the log look like? Is the boost fluctuating. I also remember a thread about the waste gate from the factory on one car was not adjusted correctly. Also was the traction control completely off. My vette would do all types of weird stuff on the dyno with partial traction control, even dips right in the middle of a pull without knock.

Hood is closed with two big fans at the front. There is a large fan built into the wall. Cooling and ventilation is no issue at this shop. These were the first two runs so heak soaking isn't an issue.
