Do these come bare aluminum like above? Most that I've seen are black (I want it bare aluminum). Is there a polished option?

i like the stepped design of the helix and the use of stock couplings like the HPF... this has the best of both!

None of those are required. The OE couplers are used.

Like many mods, it's not approved, but most technician can't tell a stock from an aftermarket one.

If you are adding this, you must have other mods. Are they all CARB legal?
