Correct steps to dyno a 335i steptronic.
Hi guys. I am having my car dyno’d next week to see what the rear wheels are putting out with the PROcede. After reading some earlier posts, I believe the correct method is the following:

Perfect. Just make sure that when you're in 4th gear you start your run at about 2000 rpm's. The tech that did mine a few months ago kept trying to start at about 4000 rpm's. Obviously it kept getting screwed up, until I stepped in and made him do it right (they wouldn't let me do it for insurance reasons).
Edit: I forgot, after you start your run, you don't need to paddle shift, let the car do it. |

Never put on the brakes on a dyno, unless you want to buy a new set of pads.

You need to use the paddles to get the car in manual mode. That way you can give it full throttle at 2,000 RPM in 4th gear without a downshift.

ya, looks good. Just so you know, I didn't have a clue at first, I had one dyno screw up (I've had 3 so far) so I called shiv, who has litterally done hundreds of these, and got the low down from him.

hey what are all the wires that the guys at the shop put into your car on a dynojet?
when doing the dyno do you guys ask for corrected numbers? dynojet is most accurate? |

Question, where has everyone picked up a tach signal? I would assume one of the coil packs would suffice. But what is the easiest method to get to one?

There's more variables than just what dyno you use people. What temperature it is, if the dyno is calibrated correctly, etc.
Mustang dyno's tend to read high from what I've heard though.
