Cold start misfires... FBO+E85
Every morning, on regular pump or E85, Map0 and Map5, i get
cylinder 1, cylinder 3, cylinder 4 and cylinder 6 misfires, along with multiple misfire code. I just changed all my plugs about 2K miles ago.. Car has 25,000 miles. Are my injectors going? Or what can the problem be? Otherwise car runs great, logs fine etc. |

You need to alter your fuel map to offer more fuel when coolant temp is low and engine speed is below 3000rpm. Relay that message to Terry@BMS

two stations off sunrise highway. Probably not too bad if you live in Brooklyn.
I get mine upstate. PS: OP, your injectors are likely bad. At least the car's telling you which cylinders they are.

I guess when I have time I can dealer it to have em take a look but don't want the long process for something not that serious |

Maybe you should just stick with 93 octane and not worry about E85 and trying to get every single HP out of the car. It will solve alot of your misfiring on cold startups.. Its better in the long run for your car.. I rather use GT104 race gas and call it day even if its more expensive. I mean its not Like your going WOT at every light!
Use it when you know you need to race or go to the track. I mean is it possible the E85 caused all your issues in the car? There hasn't been enough conclusive results with prolong usage of E85. Last edited by cn555ic; 08-25-2012 at 11:30 AM.. |
