PROceed Install CF

Hi,

I installed my proceed late last week with no problems in terms of operation, codes etc. Must say I am a VERY HAPPY CAMPER!!!!

Anyway due to my haste (& fat fingers + limited mechanical ability) I managed to drop the slider that locks down the ECU cover on the firewall side of the lid (Aus spec car).

I pulled the beast apart tonight and found there are 4 torx screws in awful positions in the box that if undone would allow me to lift it and therefore retrieve the lost slider.

So I am in a quandry here. Obviously the slider helps in locking down the cover & I assume stop H20 etc from getting near the electonics. That said even missing one slider it still seams to seal pretty well. So do I;

a) try and leaver up all the wires & inner box so I can remove the 4 screws and then get under the box so as to get the slider from where the bastard is hiding so I can reinstall

b) say f**k it and just leave it be

c) try and find out the part number and see if I can order it from BMW

d) be a really dishonest bastard and remove the PROceed, sprinkle some H20 into the bottom of the box and rock up to the dealership saying the car was playing up with electical faults after a nasty rain storm? Is their QA gonna be that bad?

e) find some tech in the US willing to send me one for a cash injection?

Thanks in advance.

S

Just order a new one. Can't imagine it would cost that much. I wouldn't want to take that unit out. Good luck!

Term we used to use when deep diving, means Cluster F**K.

Having had another look it appears nearly impossible to remove the box without causing problems, so I will just try and order a new slider.

Thanks for the help & spelling lesson.

I was looking forward to seeing a Carbon Fiber Procede? I suppose it was a cluster f*** situation instead. Anyway leave it "NOT GONNA HURT YA"
