Talking My LED Interior Setup

The Follow are the LED stuff I have on my car. These will work even with engine on. and best of all, all my LED solution don't need resister.

Many have PM me directly, and I have decide to put current setup in the DIY forum and update this as any new things comes.

Center Console,

24 LED (US version of Luxer 1) Purchase from www.bavauto.com

You will need 2 of these. One for front center, and one for back.

the Luxer 1 comes with various adapter, you will need the 168 adapter for center console.

For the under dashboard and under door (E92). It uses 168 bulb. the trick is that the 168 is install horizontal. the regular bulb has no problem shinny 360 degree. BUt since LED is forward facing... a regular LED in horizontal position will shine directly into the black plastic housing .. and most of the light will be absorbed.

On my earlier experiment, i choose the 194 Flank from www.v-leds.com

This bulb is implement in 90 degree. Which is perfect.

Also, www.v-leds.com also have the 5 face SMT that will work.

1 under each door and 1 under each dashboard. Total of 4 is needed for the coupe.

I have E92. which in the lower back seat area, there is 2 small 74 bulb installed.

For those, each side uses 2X 74 LED. You will need total of 4 for the coupe.

I got those from www.v-leds.com

I notice that they start to sell High Power SMT. I would suggest anyone to use those.. as i am in the process of purchse them.

For the License Plate, i uses Luxer 1. The adapter is 39MM festoon. It comes with the package.

YOu will need 2X. I suggest www.bavauto.com instead of Ebay.

in Bavauto, it is the 12LED.

Here is the DIY Link.

are they all plug and play or do i have to put on resisters?
if i need to put on resisters, how would i do so?

on E92.. most of the bulbs are 164... not too sure on E90.

for the center console, its the same 164 for the center... so get the 24 led from bavauto.

for the rest, like under the door and under dash.. check first....

All my LED are plug and play.. no resister..... thats my goal.

Same here, although I think I spent too much.

Here's what I got.

1. Center Console [24LED]
2. Rear Console [12LED]
3. Driver Under Door [9 LED SMT Tower II]
4. Driver Foot Area [HID White High Power Flank]
5. Passenger Foot Area [HID White High Power Flank]
6. Passenger Under Door (9 LED SMT Tower II)
7. Glove Box [6 LED]
8. Trunk [6 LED]
9. License Plate [2x 12LED]

With the exception of (2) visors and (4) map reading lights, everything else is LEDs.

What/Where to buy

2x Super White 9 LED SMT Tower II 194 $9.99 ea from http://www.autolumination.com/

1 pair HID White High Power Flank Bulb $9.99/pair from http://www.v-leds.com/

6 LEDs at $14.95 ea from www.bavauto.com

12 LEDs at $17.95 ea from www.bavauto.com

24 LEDs at $19.95 ea from www.bavauto.com

Also a sidenote, while it's tempted to replace your map reading lights with high power flank, don't do it... the main lights (center and rear console) will not work with engine on if you do this.
