Hello all.

My car was built in July 2012. I assumed it had/has the latest software. I did check the version number and it gave me this: MX - 003.004.031 for Multimedia and TX - 003.004.031 for Telephone.

I went to www.bmw.com/update to check to see if there was a newer version of the software. What is shown is from December 9, 2011. Yet the version on three of the files is 003_005_004 which would seem to be newer than what I have.

How can I tell when and if I should update my software, definitively? I would hate to hose anything but would like to keep my software current.

Here are the files I downloaded:

SWUP_00000B98_002_006_004.bin
SWUP_00000B98_003_005_004.bin
SWUP_00000B99_001_012_000.bin
SWUP_00000B99_003_005_004.bin

Also, is there a place where a user can go here to see the steps involved in safely and properly installing updates? I would like some hand-holding on this and any advice you folks might offer.
