6FL Y cable and ipod classic interference

Hi

I have just bought an ipod classic 60gb and have this hooked up using the 6FL Y cable. Everything works well but sometimes when changing tracks I can hear interference through the speakers. It lasts a few seconds and then seems to go. The noise is similar to having a mobile phone too close to speakers.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar? Perhaps my cable is not earthed right or perhaps it's when the hard drive spins up causing the noise.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

I had the exact same issue on my previous 2009... I would hear a slight high pitched noise when changing tracks. I just assumed it was my iPod or bad y-cable.

Do you have a phone in your pocket when this happens? All I can think is that somehow, when the radio isnt being used to play audio, its more susceptible to picking up interference.
