Why do they have to scratch their heads for new designs? Just wait for others' designs and just take them. I really meant "take them". That's the rule played by the Chinese auto makers...

In order for China to rule the world in anything except contract manufacturing (which they already do), they will have to learn to build high quality and provide good service.
And for China culturally and economically to get there is much easier said than done. Now, where is that Chinese character dictionary that I recently purchased...

No, it goes beyond education. I am not saying the country cannot get there, but to do so some rather ingrained social ethics and moores need to change and that is not an easy thing to do.

They may copy the design, but when one of those cars gets into an accident, it will probably crush like a soda can.

there was a video of a chinese car's safety rating crash test on one of the threads here. oh man. i seriously wouldn't drive it even if it was free. i'd sell it and use the money to get a sports bike. |

haha. at least i'll have FUN when i'm riding.
and i'm not sure if you've seen that vid but if i remember correctly, it was only 45MPH (or was it 65?) and the huge metal block literally went INTO the car from a side. the block probably ended up half way into the driver's seat. honestly, i wouldn't feel much safer in a that car. |
