Pre-order Time

Doe anyone know if BMW dealerships are pretty good at getting the car in within the 6-8 weeks? Or does it normally take longer/shorter than the expected delivery time?

With the holidays coming expect it to take longer than 6-8 weeks. If you have ordered and have your vehicle production week that would help us to inform you more.

I ordered my 330xi 2 weeks ago. Was told by my dealer it will be here within 6-8 weeks. So, I'm hoping it'll be here in about 4 weeks. I did not receive a VIN or order number when I placed my order. Am I suppose to receive some type of tracking number?

you should have received a production number very shortly after your dealer put your order in. call them and ask for it, they've had it since the day after you ordered. with that, you can go track the progress in the owner's circle. it is extremely inaccurate and slow with updates though.

i ordered mine on 11/3 and was also told it would arrive in 6-8 weeks, no mention of a delay due to holidays.

BMW NA & BMW AG will be on vacation from Dec. 23,2005 supposed until the second week in Jan. 2006.

Thanks for the reply. The only reason I want to pick it up from my dealer as soon as it gets there is because I don't want it to be used as a test drive car. The dealer could NOT promise me that the car will have under 20 miles. He only said it "should" be under 10 miles. He couldn't even put it in writting...

That holiday shouldn't be a problem.. I'm guessing the latest my car will arrive is mid december.

The car really should have 2-3 miles on it.
Otherwise someone is driving it that should not be?

Figure 7 weeks if u ordered a car, unless they are finding u one @ dealer?
Unless orders are going way faster then in May & June? mine took 7 weeks.

mine is being produced in week 49 of this year (that week ends Dec. 3, 2005)... anybody have a good guess about when I should expect to be driving?

ours is also produced in week 49, delivered in week 51 and will be put on the route january 3th. Santa Claus will be delivering I pressume

Santa only works on Dec 25th!
