***ptf S1+ E50 Ftw***
Hey enthusiasts,
I just wanted to share my Dyno results for PTF E Tune COBB S1+ E50 (50% Ethanol). 2007 E92, current @ 51k miles. Max Run at 367 whp @ 394 tq. 130 whp @ 133 tq Delta! Special thanks to Dzenno at Pro Tuning Freaks for an outstanding job and getting the MAP versions revised and returned quickly. Jake and Dzenno @ Pro Tuning Freaks are great to work with and would recommend them highly. These results were based upon many factors, thus numbers can vary depending on Dyno type, mods, tune, gas, etc. You get the idea. I began this endeavor mid February 2012, where I completed a fully stock Baseline Dyno run. A Dyno Dynamics aka Heartbreaker Dyno was used. This Dyno uses SAE corrections, thus the read out are lower than other Dynos. But the important part! Are the delta’s! Baseline Run: Max 231 whp @ 257 tq 4th gear AT (DS Mode) +- 60 deg Outside Air Hood up +- 5-8 min. between runs 42,500 miles Since my goal is to keep stock DP’s until warranty and 1st SMOG is up, I decided to get maximum power with COBB S1+ in the meantime. March through August Mods: ( took longer than expected ) Spark Plugs under maintenance Walnut Shell Blasting CPE DCI COBB Tune ETS FMIC ER CP w/ TiAL BOV Now of course, the fun part. After dialing in the E Tune I took it back to the Dyno shop. PTF S1+ E50 Dyno Runs Run 5 Blue 367 whp @ 394 tq Run 9 Red 360 whp @ 390 tq Run 10 Pink 362 whp @ 397 tq Green Baseline 4th gear AT (Manual Mode) +- 77 deg Outside Air Hood up +- 5-8 min. between runs 51,500 miles A Delta of 130+ whp @ 133+ tq. Fuel blends @ 8.5 gallons of E85 with 7.5 gallons of ACN 91. Overall I am very satisfied with these results and it shows that there is power to be made with a Stage 1+ 335i. Granted the fact with Stock DP’s, ACN 91 and we didn’t push the limits, there is still more ponies to be made. Thanks, Vince.. __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ______________________________________ ***UPDATE*** September 26th, 2012 @ 10:00 pm PST As promised below are my DynoJet Numbers. Max Run: 415whp @ 443wtq Baseline: 291whp @ 296wtq Keep in mind, this baseline is COBB MAP 0, with current MODs and E50. Delta of: 124whp @ 147wtq Not to be a glorified Dyno Queen, I feel there is still room for improvement on these runs. The tech had some difficulty with WOT and we didn't hit WOT till 4800 RPM. I didn't reach max boost or timing, but anyway it is what it is, these are just numbers. $20 a run was beginning to be an expensive learning curve for Mr. Tech. not used to AT. . But overall I was very happy with with MCE Racing, they are good and knowledgeable people. As you can see; 48 whp @ 48 wtq difference between the Dyno Dynamic vs. DynoJet. Either way the car feels the same no matter what Dyno I use. But for bragging rights, I'll say i have a 400 whp car. thanks, Vince

Excellent results. I'm tempted to give these guys a chance, but I don't want to lose my 26/34 MPG. Only if there was a way to have great power and fuel consumption.

my car on E50 has dreadful mpg. if you are off boost is fine but since i am always on boost ... your mpg will take a dive for sure.

Manny for shits and giggles you should try to run the cobb of the shelf e30 tune to see if you like it. If not then you are only out a little bit of time testing it, but if you do like it then you can get ahold of PTF to get even more out of it. Also, e85 mix tunes will show worse MPG the more ethanol content you go. You could do a conservative e25 tune and not be too bad off from your current MPG.

6 m/t and tuned while cruising. I was getting about your gas mileage stock, but after it was tune, it went up... as long as I'm not driving like a mad man. The secret to good gas mileage is in your foot .

Amazing numbers! When you go with downpipes it will open up even more. Great job PTF!

Does anybody know the TQ rating on AT? That would be my only concern of going higher.

Dont worry about the AT on stock turbos. Just dont go wild on launches from a dig.

E50 FTW is right. This is my personal pro tune from the S1+ map. I don't know how accurate the VD is but its same stretch of road with same weather conditions. My deltas are pretty nice too!

Yes, I would get FMIC before DPs. Well specifically in warmer climates.
I didn't have the proper cooling fan when dynoing thus was loosing some power. That's why you.see the difference between run 1 and 2. If I had the proper fan, as one directly in front the inter cooler, I may have seen 370's.
