Best Oil Filter?
Doing an oil change next week, and I wanted to know what the best Oil Filter would be? Either one of these?

I buy the the Mann (BMW OEM) filter (HU816X) from Parts source for like $8-$9. It looks exactly like the ES11066. Don't waste your time ordering online. And yes, the Mann filter comes with the 2 O rings for the filter and the crush washer for the oil drain pan.
As for the oil, you can't go wrong with Mobil 1 as it is BMW approved oil. I read a post somewhere and it ranked the Castrol Syntec 0W-30 (European formula) first and this was followed by the Mobil 1 oil that you posted. Both of them are suppose to be better than the Castrol blend that the dealership uses. Just buy whichever one comes on sale first. |
