Pilot Sport PS2 ZP - Exploding Sidewall!
Got out of my car after a few hour drive and was greeted by this!
The sidewall of my left Pilot Sport has separated from the rest of the tire. It still has pressure and isn't throwing any TPMS codes. A bit of quick googling has revealed a few pages on this type of failure being considered a defect. There's zero damage to the rim (there's a bit of residue in the first photo that thought was wheel damage, I rubbed it off before taking the second). Has anyone experienced anything like this? |

Yep, this happened to me with a brand new set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I'd say I put a total of 6k miles on them. The front passenger side tire generated a "bubble". If I hadn't gotten it replaced, it would've done that exact same thing.

Happened to me when I hit a pot hole on brand new tires. Michelin replaced them as an act of good faith. I have also had bubbled in the sidewalls TWICE before on the Pilot Sports when hitting bumps, not even really big ones either.

There is a warranty on the PS2, this -should- be covered (seems legitimate, but never know what they will say, duh).
