Removing Dinan Stage 2 without visiting dealer?
I *hate* going to the dealer.
I have a tech cable that let me code my injectors by hand using INPA, and that went along without incident. Is there a way I can flash my DME to remove the Dinan S2 flash safely from home? It's a 2009 USDM 2009 135i. |

Just curious, why do you want to remove it?

No, you cannot flash your DME with stock software using INPA. Just take it to the dealer and they'll reflash the latest version of your DME's software. Trying to do it yourself could seriously mess it up - for instance, where would you get the stock software from? Dinan's flash is different from Cobb and other flashes, so if you really want it done right, take it to a dealer or an indy shop that has the right equipment to do this.

Have to go to a shop with an Autologic or GT1 to program the DME. It takes about 45 to 60 minutes to program the DME depending on version with the Autologic, not sure about other programming devices.

Do you guys at your shop have the above mentioned Autologic or a GT1? I ask because when my warranty period runs out, I'd like to reflash my DME back to stock as well. Thanks.

Dinan flashes the DME in a way to force you to go to the dealer so there is record of you removing their software. More than likely the dealer may charge you, it all depends on who you know. |
