What a loser....do something useful assholes. Like arrive 5 minutes when someone call 911 multiple times.

Or perhaps go do something useful...rather than eagle eyeing outside dunkin donuts...feces eating morons.

stupid thread but i agree more and more everyday, in SoCal at least you can call 911 as much as you want and never get threw but if you drive a few ticks over the speed limit odds seem more than likely that youll get caught. not right but just the way it is, they dont make money taking someone to jail but theyll be happy to take your $276 (thats what mine cost) for speeding

Sounds like a ticket like this would have a good chance of being dismissed if there was no wrecklessness involved.

I think so...haha...but then...don't feel like taking the time off for court during week day. Guess I'll pay for it and go to school on Sat to take those points off plus some insurance reduction....what a bummer.....i am not the only one that was pulled over. I saw a couple more got the same shit after me. It was a busy area and people tend to cross recklessly, plus it was raining and everyone was trembling around. Guess I'll take it as a lesson learned...care for others .... On the other hand, where were these pigs when a bus didn't bother stopping while me and my wife were crossing in the crosswalk....fucking PIGs (yeah again.)

No such thing as ticket "quotas" Urban myth. Your ticket does sound chicken Sh!t. BTW did the pedestrian get a "J" walking ticket?

well.....to cops, you're supposed to be on alert for pedestrians b/c pedestrians are"more important" than cars. like, pedestrians can do w/e they want on the street and if you hit them b/c they jwalked or something, its still ur fault. fuckin sux

and also, i dont think cops have quotas. Everybody seems to think that, but i asked a CHP officer once and he said that they dont. He said they have like "imaginary quotas" where if your boss was to compare the # of tickets you gave out to somebody else, and your number is low, then it looks like u werent doing your job. if anybody here actually is a cop, and they do have quotas, please correct me.

pedestrians have the right of way, doesn't matter if they're crossing illegally

Well..maybe not a written "quota"..so..it;s like what 'atl' said, bosses might think you're not doing stuff...maybe coincidently cops just gets motivated and unusually hardworking towards the end of the month.

As for my case...the cop choosed me over the padestrian since he was in his fatmobile for a tix. Yes, I do feel bad for not slamming my brakes to let them go across....I was being selfish so that the truck behind me won't rear ended me....oh well

If I had the energy I'd type up some stories of cops doing this to me, being 18, I get profiled like crazy by Jersey cops, not so much by my local PA and NYC cops though. I remember a cop tailgating me for 5 miles once In jersey, then pulling me over for "obstructing traffic"

Ok, full story because I have some time:

Ok, so I'm 18, I'm not the ugliest guy in the world, and I don't wear rags. For starters, Jersey cops followed me around all the time even when I drove my 98 Jeep because of how I look, so I should have known better then to take it to Jersey, but It was only 4 hours old then, and I wanted to show my friends who lived there.

I'm off in Jersey, outside Trenton, cant remember the exact name, having some drinks and meeting up with some friends. We pulled up in my 335 and had a pretty good time. As we're leaving the restaurant, we see 2 guys standing next to a 05 530 out front, talking about their car. Mine is parked out back, so they haven't seen it yet, but they sound like they know what their talking about, so we decided to drive particularly slowly, see if they'd notice me.

They did, and immediately waved and gave us the Thumbs Up about the car. as we started to move towards the exit of the parking lot, the same cop that had been circling the building came at us from the side. He was easily doing 35+ in the parking lot, and almost plowed right into the passenger side, where my best friend was sitting. He jerks to a stop, then he sees that its the same kids who were walking to the BMW in the parking lot.

We pull out of the parking lot, and he comes right behind us. He starts tailgating us for 4 miles, so I made sure I stuck right on the speed limit the whole time. after about 4-5 miles, he flicks his lights and pulls us over.

When I roll down my WIndow, the first words out of his mouth are " do you know you were going 45 in a 50?" My friends say I just sat there and stared at him for a good 30 seconds, but it felt like longer, I had no idea what to say to that, I mean, he was tailgating me!

In the end, he gave me a lecture about not holding up traffic, and gave me a ticket for my License plate bracket, which apparently covered up too much of the plate, Obviously he was just embarrassed about almost hitting and possibly seriously hurting my friend in the passenger seat.

Ward come on. People in mass who have green plates dont need a front license plate yet those who have new ones need both?

Is that not ridiculous?

Actually, that's not entirely true. There is a police division here in Canada that allowed their police officers leave early in the day if they reached their 25 tickets quota.

The media broke the story and created a PR mess for the police division and here is the link to the story:
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/sto...fic-quota.html

I wouldn't be surprise if all Police divisions had an unwritten and unspoken agreement between the senior management and the officers about ticket quotas.
