Best Air intake system?

I'm thinking of adding an air intake system. I've done a little research on the Dinan ram-air and the Bavauto AFE kit and have seen the GruppeM on here but was wondering what kit most people are recommending.

The AFE looks like it might be the easiest one to install.

I have done a search on here but most of the threads are old, long and not very informative, so I was hoping to start a new post with more information and less useless comments

Note:

215.65-207.17 = 8.48 rWHP difference
Torque change = 9-10 ft-lbs

and consistent increases in HP and torque throughout rpm band and this is a static dyno (i.e., no wind from motion).

I think most folks here are putting intakes on more for sound than performance gains. Most of us all agree that the stock intake is too quiet.

Not necessarily true for Turbo cars.

However, intake has never been your best bang for your buck.

Can you elaborate a little more?

Did you feel any performance increase?

How does it sound?

Did you install it yourself and if so was is difficult?

Not true, dyno isn't necessarily real world if you consider airflow and heatsoak.

I am a fan of our Simota ram style intake. Installed a couple on a few fellow E90 Posters and the results were fantastic, both on a 325 and 330.

Has anybody else done Dynos for their intake besides the Gruppe M? It would be interesting to see how the Gruppe M Rep performed in comparison.

I like the look and the price of this one. Any tech specs? Torque and HP gains?

Simota = Bimmian. Carbon fiber is asthetically pleasing. Sounds nice and positives on butt dyno.
