Hi I got a quotation from BMW approx. 2 months ago to fit the Alpine stereo upgrade around 600 quid.

But the guy did not seem to know much about it and kept going back into the office to ask questions etc?

So can someone please explain whether you get:-

1. The rubber tweeter grille window surrounds as part of the standard set-up or do you have to specify them as extras?

2. Again with the foam insulation part, is this part of the standard set-up or do you have to specify them as extras?

If so what are the part number please?

I have an E92 car, are the above items needed or is just for E90 car?

Its probably better to ask in the Alpine thread. There is lots of info on there and it gets answered to really quick!

With the E90 the foam is already included in the car and will house the tweeter.

With E92 you will need to purchase the grille/corner triangles they are different to the all around surrounds needed for the E90.

I don't have the P/N but if you order the Alpine kit from your vin number it pops up with the other two grille/triangles on their system.

Rubber tweeter grill? the black plastic triangle that houses the tweeter? yes there are two additional part numbers for these. Cant remember them though

They come with the original plastic triangle fitted tot he e92 so can be used with the new parts.

- New foam seals for the tweeters:

Please double-check on realoem.com under vehicle trim, front door

If changing from basic to alpine upgrade, need to buy these as extras if fitting to e92. it does not come with the alpine upgrade kit.
your existing tweeter moulding will not work (if on base audio) as it does not have holes / mounting for the tweeter.

dude i have this on my car and fitted it myself!

took two evenings to do (as it was the first time i have ever done something like this)

but if you take your time and follow some online guides its easy enough and saves you a heck of a lot of money!
