Hi - I have a pair of 4" 2-way JBL P462s for sale. These are new. I tried to mount these in the door, and realized I need an adapter plate. I don't feel like fabricating. (The only thing i did was snip a small amount off a couple of the tabs to try and make something work) Speaker Size 4" Design 2-way Tweeter Design Dome Tweeter Composition Textile Woofer Composition Honeycomb Laminate (HCL) Woofer Surround Rubber Peak Power Handling 150 watts RMS Power Handling 50 watts Sensitivity 91 dB Frequency Response 75 - 23000 Hz Impedance (Per Voice Coil) 2 ohms Shallow Mount Installation Yes Top-Mount Depth 1-7/8" (47.625mm) I paid over $140 for these (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12268_JBL-P462.html). Comes with grills, manuals & foam (and box obviously). Somehow lost the bag of screws, so you'll need to use your existing screws. These will make a great center channel speaker, so I'm going to try and split these up. These can also be used in the rear deck as well. I'm asking $40 shipped for each speaker, or $80 shipped for both. PM me with any questions ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Added a few mounted pics for those who were asking. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by rish197; 10-15-2012 at 09:26 AM.. |

Good speakers
I'm using one as my center speaker. Great clean sound. Fits right in. I had tried other center speakers including Focal but the JBL sounded the best.

Will these work for the center channel
I've been looking into the add a tweeter mod but this speaker might do the trick.
Do you know if this will fit in the center as far as mounting depth? It looks like I'd have to cut off some tabs and might only be able to screw it down with one screw right? Finally do you know how the sensitivity of this compares to stock? I'm hoping it plays a little louder than the stock speakers, with stock amplification, to pull the sound stage into the center. |
