Question Dynavin D99 - OBC / MPG Related Question

Hi folks,

I've searched high and low and have only been able to pick up small bits of information here and there but no definitive answer so far, so I'm hoping someone here can help me?

I've a Pre-LCI E90 with the factory Professional Radio and I'm considering upgrading to the D99 unit. From what I can figure out, you lose the OBC settings on the head-unit itself in favour of the D99's own OBC screen. I know you can't adjust or reset items (such as MPG, average speed etc.) through the head-unit, but can you still reset them through the indicator stalk via the small screen within the speedometer cluster?

Also, if for whatever reason I have to disconnect the battery - does this mean I need to re-install the OEM radio to reset the time, date etc?

I hope someone with experience can help me on this one!

Thanks in advance,

Paddy

The setup on the stalk still works as usual, even if the original HU is replaced

Is that for definite? Thanks for taking your time to reply BTW, it's really difficult to get an answer on this. Personally can't see why a new head unit would affect the cluster and settings in with the speedometer, but have been told otherwise!

The Head unit is an integrated part of the network of computers and buses that make up the electrical system . When they can't communicate with each other they are not happy.

Thanks Kenti, really appreciate that. You've no idea how hard it has been to get a specific answer for that question!

I know someone you could ask......Kenti is correct, stalk and cluster control/display are unaffected by the dynavin install.
