Hide radar detector, even when hardwired?

Hi All,

I recently got a Valentine 1 and followed the DIY on hardwiring the unit into the wiring harness in the FSD panel. Thanks to the great members on this forum.

For all of you that have expensive radar detectors, do you still dismount and hide the units even when hardwired? I'm still using the suction cups for the Valentine one, but was considering going to a BlendMount when they are available.

So what do you guys and gals typically do?

I have mine hardwired to the left of the RVM but it is behind my aftermarket non-metallic tint strip so it is virtually invisible unless you're right on it. I don't normally park in questionable areas but if i did I would take it down and put it in the glove box.
