BMW Assist & ED Purchases

For those who purchased via ED then signed a BMW Assist agreement supplied by your CA, your expiration date for BMW Assist may have expired concurrent with your warranty expiration (my CA told me the BMW system automatically uses that date; not sure if true or not). However as we all know, we don't take re-delivery of our cars for 6-8 weeks and we can't use BMW Assist in Europe or obviously on the vessel bringing the car to the U.S. As you may know, we are supposed to receive a 4-year complimentary BMW Assist service.

Also check the start date on the BMW Assist agreement; ie, on mine it was the Munich pickup date [guess not everyone in BMWNA really understands the ED program]. That problem the CA could easily fix at re-delivery, but not the false expiration date.

So I recently contacted a trusted BimmerFest source who advised me to challenge the BMW Assist expiration date. I contacted the ED office via E-Mail and explained the situation. Received a letter in the mail last week extending my BMW Assist agreement by 2 months (again, complimentary).

Yep. Had that same problem but I just went through my SA and he was able to change it. BTW: I got my BMW assist card weeks before I got my car back.

Thats strange, because my dealership said they could not extend the length of the service from what their computer printed. Thats why I had to E-Mail BMWNA ED.
