new stoptech brake grinding when coming to a stop ?
I replaced my rear pads and rotors with stoptech street perf pads and cross-drilled rotors.
immediately i felt and heard grind when i come to a complete stop. i figured maybe i just need to bed in (rear brakes only so far, so it's not even that important). i took my car to my usual auto-x place and put the brakes to its paces. the rear was billowing white smoke by the time i was done. brake grind was gone, until a week later it grinds again. i'm starting to think it might be the guide rod binding? i'm not an expert, any 2cents would be appreciated. |

2 weeks into that same setup - zero issues. Make sure your brake rotor set screw (hopefully you changed to stainless - link here - and put thread lock on it!) and you are following the correct bed-in process. This is a pretty sweet setup and there should be no grinding - no squeaks - nothing. Grinding means something out of alignment - it needs to be checked. Good luck.

anybody know what to check? i'm not detecting any other problem besides the grinding, i wonder if it's a worn clip or seized guide bolt? |
