Note on Front Brake Job E90

Just did my front brakes today. The replacement OEM outside pad (the pad that does not get pushed by the piston) did not have a metal clip/prong on the back. I checked the part number and it was un fact correct. All other aspects on the new pad matched the old pad, so I went ahead installed it. Fit was correct and felt secure and performed correctly under heavy braking. Anyone else run into this?
