a little dissapointed

in the soundsytem in my 335i coupe.

i got the standard stereo, mainly because i had the standard on my 06 325, which was sufficient.

but the stereo quality is LOWER on my 335i!!!!! O well time to upgrade with some custom ish.

The "standard" system in a 335i is Logic-7... should definitely be better than the standard system in your 325. Have you tried messing with EQ settings?

Yeah, standard is the Logic 7.
Sounds great to me....as good or better than the Bose in our Infiniti and Toyota.

Have you adjust the equalizer bars around yet?

Do you have iDrive?? Did you try playing with the Equalizer and surround modes. Not sure how to do that in a non-iDrive car but tweaking it with iDrive made a huge improvement for me.

I used to sell aftermarket car audio and if you really think they can make your $45,000 car sound better more power to you. Once you take a cars dash apart it never fits the same. Especially if the one taking it apart is some 18 year old getting paid $10 bucks an hour. Trust me. Dont do it. I have some pretty funny stories about that job and customer cars. GL

If you check all the settings and still no improvement I'd have it checked out by the dealer. I had a problem when I picked up my X5. It would randomly sound like I was in a tunnel, stadium, the volume would sometimes drop drasticly, ect. They checked it out and never had a problem since.

I think the sound system is great and I have a killer aftermarket setup in my s2k.You do have to set up the bass and treble and the graphic eq though.

I think I had the same effect when I got the car. I thought the system was a bit on the weak side.

But, I was messing around with the Idrive and found the EQ and other settings for the Audio and it made a difference.

They even have an option where your volume increases the faster you drive the car. So when the GF starts nagging, press the gas and bamm, drown out the girlfriend..HA!

^^ +1. I used to work in car audio as well. Definitely some shady stuff happens from time to time and yes cars like BMW, Mercedes, etc. who use lots of one time use fasteners never go back together the same.

I wish there was a way to turn off the speed adjusted volume feature completely. Even on the lowest setting I find it annoying. Love the Logic 7 though.

+1. I agree as well. I wouldn't do unless you got something easily mod-able like a Civic.
