aFe Elite Stage 2 Si Intake System 335i/xi
Was wondering everyone's thoughts. Install was a pain, need to do a bit of sanding in order to fit the left connector, but other than that pretty straight forward. Let me know what you guys think?

"cowl" ? No just the left side of the air box connection piece needed some sanding to fit and once everything was in place it was hard to have everything align at the same time. Learned a lot though heheh. What do you think of the performance gain or the technology behind it? |

When the cowl is removed you could have connected the snorkels to the air box first before laying it down Anyhow, you can also leave the box cover off during cooler seasons. It has an awesome sucking of air sound. You will have the best of the two CAI and DCI worlds. Try it out..... During the hotter season you can put the cover back on. That intake yields very good gains as advertised by aFe |

Oh, ok, yes the cowl was removed and shift up prior to installation. The hard part was fitment + working in the cold + trying to pull the rear intake tube forward to make it flush + aligning the bow and direct tubes to the front under the steel frame lol...All in all 2+ hours.
Couple questions though... 1.) What will the dealer think being that it is CPO 2.) Does one generally lose a bit of boost now that there is an aftermarket intake vs a true sealed unit as the factory provides? 3.) Was there a comparable CAI vs spending $900+ on this? Groupeem |

There is no such thing as losing boost due to an aftermarket DCI or CAI. You can truly seal the aFe stage 2 box. I have a post on how this is done and itncostmless than $10. All other CAI cost more except for the Stett. The aFe is more flexible to work and is best to take advantage of both CAI and DCI world I gained 12 whp and 17 wtq on the aFe stage 2 . Will post my review later |
